About the Event

Oh hey! Isn’t it fun when you realise that not only do you have to deal with uni, assessments, assignments, exams, continuity of care experiences and life! But guess what, then they add grad years to the mix too!

So on top of the usual University requirements, now you get to create an application (or in most cases, multiple, individual applications) in order to get your dream job!

Well how about you come and join us online for a few hours and learn exactly what the requirements are, we will break the information up into bite sized bits and give you a detailed to do list for the next few months to make sure you are ready to rumble when applications open!

Sound good? Well lets get going!

Who should attend your day of wonder?

Well any student nurse and or midwife will take a lot out of the day! We generally find that our attendees (there have been over 1000 so far!) are in their final year of uni, however we have people who do attend in other years of their degree, if they like being organised (I get it and I love it!) So where ever you are in your university journey you are more than welcome to attend!

So come and spend the day with us, we will learn the exact bits of information required to generate a kick ass application and have your dream hospital begging you to join their ranks.

What will you learn?

Applications and resumes

  • The application process as a whole (This will be a general chat about the application process – however at the end of the session we will go into more detail about specific state by state information depending on our attendees needs – you will also be sent an in-depth look into each states application process and requirements when we send out the webinar recording)
  • The correct detail, format and information to be included in both your cover letter and resume
  • How to address the key selection criteria, values and mission statement to score top points
  • An overview of formatting options for your application based on the job description and hospital requirements
  • How to utilise a job description to nail your application and ensure your resume isn’t thrown out before its even been read!
  • The 3 points that will set you apart from your peers
  • How to get the referees that will help, not hinder your application
  • The important points to consider when picking your hospitals.

  • How the interview process works
  • The different kinds of interviews used in hospitals
  • How to stand out in an interview (especially in a group interview)
  • Language to help highlight your skills and passions
  • Things to avoid
  • The correct way to dress (hot tip: it's not what you expect)
  • Practice interview questions - actual questions used in the last 24 months in graduate interviews (and how to answer them)
  • We will also hold a practice interview session at the end of the information part of the webinar

This is an online event, if you cannot make the live event you will receive access to the recording for 90 days after the sessions

What we want you to gain from the session

In short, we want you to leave our session feeling completely empowered and ready to take on your applications. We want to show you that you already have the skills and experiences necessary to absolutely nail your applications and gain a real confidence in yourself by doing so. We want you to realise your potential and learn exactly how to highlight all of your wonderful traits in a way that helps the hospitals see how incredible you are!

As an added extra you will also gain access to our facebook group which is full of people sharing the same experiences as you! It’s a group dedicated to sharing up to date, factual information on the application process.
